If you cross that border, then you’ll go into Canada.
There are parks in every US state, but Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve might be one of the most fascinating. The park’s website says, “Craters of the Moon is a vast ocean of lava flows with scattered islands of cinder cones and sagebrush. We invite you to explore this ‘weird and scenic landscape’ where yesterday’s volcanic events are likely to continue tomorrow...”. If you decide to visit the park, then wear good shoes, stay on the trails, and be sure to check for park alerts on its website.
If you are in Idaho from June to September and love theater, then you should definitely check out the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. The festival takes place at an outdoor theater. Summers in Idaho are hot and dry, which is great for this type of event. Most shows start around 8 P.M. and the temperature can drop to around 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 C) at night. Be sure to bring a blanket in case if it gets too cold and enjoy the show!
