Oh, the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful.
And since we've got no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
But the fire is so delightful.
And since we've got no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
Oh, it doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I've brought some corn for popping.
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
And I've brought some corn for popping.
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But, if you really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm!
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But, if you really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm!
The fire is slowly dying,
And my dear, we're still good-by-ing.
But, as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It snow!
And my dear, we're still good-by-ing.
But, as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It snow!
Oh, it doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I've brought some corn for popping,
Since the lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
And I've brought some corn for popping,
Since the lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
When we finally say goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But, if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm!
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But, if you'll really hold me tight,

And since we've no place to go
Let it snow! Let it snow, Let it snow!
but the fire is so delightful.
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow! Let it snow, Let it snow!
Let it snow! Let it snow! LET... IT ... SNOW!

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button-nose
and two eyes made out of coal
Frosty the snowman is a fairytale they say
He was made of snow but the children
know how he came to life one day
There must have been some magic in that
old silk hat they found
For when they placed it on his head
he began to dance around
Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button-nose
and two eyes made out of coal
Frosty the snowman is a fairytale they say
He was made of snow but the children
know how he came to life one day
There must have been some magic in that
old silk hat they found
For when they placed it on his head
he began to dance around
Oh
Frosty the snowman
was alive as he could be
And the children say he could laugh
and play just the same as you and me
Thumpity thump thump
thumpity thump thump
Look at Frosty go
Thumpity thump thump
thumpity thump thump
Over the hills of snow
Frosty the snowman
was alive as he could be
And the children say he could laugh
and play just the same as you and me
Thumpity thump thump
thumpity thump thump
Look at Frosty go
Thumpity thump thump
thumpity thump thump
Over the hills of snow
Frosty the snowman knew
the sun was hot that day
So he said
Let's run and
we'll have some fun
now before I melt away
Down to the village
with a broomstick in his hand
Running here and there all
around the square saying
Catch me if you can
He led them down the streets of town
right to the traffic cop
And he only paused a moment when
he heard him holler "Stop!"
For Frosty the snowman
had to hurry on his way
But he waved goodbye saying
Don't you cry
I'll be back again some day
thumpity thump thump
thumpity thump thump
Look at Frosty go
thumpity thump thump
thumpity thump thump
Over the hills of snow

As we near the end of the year, teachers plan for winter themed lessons. There are so many great songs to chose from and I guarantee most people will have their own favorites. I believe that we, as educators, should always be mindful of our learner populations. This is particularly true if we are teaching in non-religion specific schools. We have a duty to keep our classrooms free for differing religions and also clear of forced religious culture that is delivered via lesson plans.
Around this time of year in particular, I believe we really do need to be mindful of the songs we select to have our break-ready students sing. As many of us know, many American popular culture winter-themed songs revolve around Christian beliefs. This comes as no surprise as the United States is estimated to be around 70% Christian (2014). All the same, this does not mean that we can only serve Christian students just because they are the majority. Instead, we should celebrate winter in all of its snow, all different gatherings of people, and times of sharing through the cold months.
I hope these lists help and I wish you all the best of health as you begin to wrap up the semester! Feel free to leave a comment if you'd like and I'll try to get back to you ASAP.
